Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data JGC Automotive Ltd (trading as JGC Porsche Specialist) collects, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect, and why
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form asks for your name, telephone number, email address, the model and year of your car, and anything else you choose to tell us. We use it only to answer your enquiry and to arrange work on your car.
Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you have asked us to get in touch about a service, and answering you is the reason the form exists. Where an enquiry becomes a booking, the basis becomes performance of a contract.
When we work on your car
We keep a record of the work carried out, the parts fitted, condition photographs, diagnostic readings and invoices. Your vehicle registration and VIN are part of that record. We keep it so that the car's history is complete and so that we can answer questions about work we did years ago.
Our lawful basis is performance of a contract and, for the retention period, legal obligation — HMRC requires business records to be kept for six years.
When you visit the website
The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you between sites. Our host records standard server logs (IP address, page requested, time) for security and to keep the site running.
Who else is involved
We use a small number of suppliers who process data on our behalf. Each is bound by contract to use it only for the purpose we specify.
- Cloudflare
- Hosts this website and delivers it. Processes server logs and security data.
- Resend
- Delivers enquiry-form submissions to our inbox as email.
- Google Maps
- The map on the contact page and in the location panel is embedded from Google. It loads only when you open it, and when it does, Google receives your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
- Stripe
- Handles membership card payments. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our systems.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become bookings: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer and vehicle records, including invoices: 6 years after the last work, to meet HMRC requirements.
- Condition photographs and diagnostic records: kept alongside the vehicle record for as long as you own the car, unless you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- ask us to delete data, where we are not required to keep it;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it;
- ask for your data in a portable format.
Email info@jgcporsche.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
Complaints
If you think we have handled your data badly, please tell us first — most things are a misunderstanding we can fix. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing customers will be sent by email.
