Terms
These terms cover work carried out by JGC Automotive Ltd (trading as JGC Porsche Specialist), company number 8329891, VAT number 217 1354 34. They apply alongside anything specific we agree with you in writing.
Quotes and estimates
We agree a price before work starts. Where a job cannot be priced exactly until we are into it — diagnostics especially — we give an estimate and a limit, and we call you before going past it. Nothing is carried out that you have not agreed to.
Prices exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. Our labour rate is shown on the servicing page.
Bookings
We work by appointment so that your car goes on a ramp the day it arrives. If you cannot make a booking, please give us as much notice as you can so the slot can go to someone else.
Diagnostic time
We charge for diagnostic time. This is deliberate: it is what allows us to prove a fault rather than replace parts hoping one of them was the problem. Where diagnosis leads to work we carry out, we will say at the time how the diagnostic charge is treated.
Parts
We fit genuine or OE-equivalent parts and will tell you which. Parts removed from your car are available for you to inspect or keep if you ask when you book in; otherwise they are disposed of after collection.
Payment
Payment is due on collection unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. We accept card and bank transfer. Vehicles remain our property-in-possession until payment clears, and we reserve a lien over the vehicle for unpaid work.
Storage
Please collect your car within five working days of being told it is ready. After that we may charge a reasonable daily storage fee, which we will tell you about before it starts.
Inspections
A post-purchase inspection is a professional opinion on the condition of a used vehicle at a point in time, based on what can be seen and measured in the time allowed. It is not a warranty or a guarantee, and it cannot account for faults that were not present or detectable on the day. Our liability for an inspection is limited to the fee paid for it.
Membership
Membership costs £99 a year for one car and one owner. It provides WhatsApp access to the workshop and two diagnostic checks per year. It is not a service plan, not a warranty, and not roadside assistance. Servicing, parts and labour are charged as usual.
Membership renews annually on the date you joined. We email you a fortnight before renewal. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid term and unused diagnostic checks do not carry over or refund.
Workmanship
Work is carried out with reasonable care and skill. If something we did is not right, tell us and bring the car back — we would far rather put it right ourselves. Parts carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we will pass on.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our liability in connection with any work is limited to the amount paid for that work, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Independence
JGC Porsche Specialist is an independent specialist. Not affiliated with Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG. Model names and generation codes are used to describe the vehicles we work on.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
