Serviced around how you actually use the car.
A 992 doing eight thousand motorway miles a year and a 987 doing a thousand sunny ones need different things at different times. We start from your mileage, your history and where the car sleeps, then work to the factory schedule as a floor rather than a ceiling.
Every service is carried out by James, with genuine or OE-equivalent parts, and recorded properly so the car's history stands up to scrutiny when you sell it.

A rough guide to servicing:
Whichever comes first. Time matters more than mileage on a car that sits, which is most of the cars we look after.
| Item | Interval | What it involves |
|---|---|---|
| Minor service | 12 months / 9,000 miles | Oil and filter, full ramp inspection, all fluid levels and a road test |
| Major service | 24 months / 18,000 miles | Adds air filter, plugs where due, brake fluid and a longer inspection |
| Brake fluid | 2 years, regardless of mileage | Not negotiable on a car you ever drive quickly. Fluid absorbs water and fades |
| Spark plugs | 4 years / 36,000 miles | Coil packs tested at the same time, since they usually fail together |
| Air-conditioning | 2 years | Leak-tested and evacuated, then regassed by weight — not topped up |
| Coolant | 8 years | Water-cooled cars punish neglect here. We test strength as well as level |
| PDK / gearbox oil | 6 years / 48,000 miles | Filter and seal renewed, clutch wear measured on PIWIS before and after |
| Serpentine belt | 6 years | Inspected at every service from year four, with the tensioner |
Beyond the factory schedule.
The checks a fixed schedule leaves out, which is usually where the money and the misery actually live.
Borescope inspection
On M96 and M97 engines we look down the bores rather than guessing from oil consumption.
Coolant pipes and radiators
The known Cayenne and Macan failure. Checked from underneath with the undertray off, not from above.
Suspension under load
Bushes and drop links checked with the car on its wheels. Hanging from a two-post ramp hides play.
Corrosion survey
Underside, subframes and sills photographed, particularly on cars that see British winters.
Battery under load
Tested properly, with a note on whether your car needs a conditioner between drives.
Torque figures recorded
Written down and filed, so the next person to work on the car knows exactly what was done.
What we look at hardest, by model.
Not a list of reasons to worry. These are the known weak points on each generation, and knowing which apply to your car and its build date is most of the job.
