We own a GT3 because it is the most honest test rig we could buy.

Nothing gets recommended to a customer that has not been run on our own car first. The 997.1 does Silverstone, Donington and Spa, comes back with worn parts and honest data, and tells us which upgrades are worth the money and which are marketing.

This page is not here to impress you. It is here so you can judge whether the people setting up your car have done it on their own.

In-house car — 2007 997.1 GT3

It is on its third set of dampers, second cooling configuration and more brake compounds than we care to admit. Every change was measured, and most of them were reverted.

If you ask us for a coilover recommendation for a road-biased 981, you will get an answer shaped by that, rather than by what we have in stock.

Every car leaves with its numbers written down.

Corner weights, camber, toe and pressures, before and after. You keep the sheet, so the next person to touch the car — including us in two years — is not guessing.

Corner Weight Camber Toe
Front left 412 kg −2°50′ +0°04′
Front right 408 kg −2°48′ +0°04′
Rear left 486 kg −1°55′ +0°10′
Rear right 491 kg −1°57′ +0°10′

Cross weight 50.4%Ride height 118 / 124 mm

Road, road and track, or track.

We will also tell you when the answer is to spend the money on tyres and a driver-training day instead. That is usually the answer.

01

Geometry and corner weights

Four-wheel alignment and corner weighting on scales, set to a road, road-and-track or track figure that you choose with us.

02

Suspension

Coilover and damper fitment, spring rate advice, bush and arm renewal. Set up and measured after fitting, not just bolted on.

03

Brakes and fluids

Pad compound matched to how you actually use the car, braided lines, high-temperature fluid, PCCB assessment.

04

Cooling

Radiator and oil-cooler condition, centre radiator fitment on cars that never had one, and the debris removal nobody does.

05

Track preparation

Pre-event check, torque and fluid inspection, harness and extinguisher fitting, tyre and pressure recommendations.

06

Post-event inspection

The one owners skip. Brakes, fluids, fasteners and geometry checked after a hard weekend, before it becomes a repair.

Talk to us about setup.

Tell us the model and roughly what is on your mind. We will come back with a date, a price and how long we will need the car.

If you need a hire car after dropping your vehicle off, we have partnered with Enterprise — just ask when you book in and we will arrange it for you.
