Find out what
you actually bought.

Three hours on the ramp at the workshop, every control unit read and a proper road test — then a plain list of what needs doing now, what can wait a year, and what to leave alone. Most owners book it in the first month.

Four steps, and a plan at the end of it.

Nobody expects a used Porsche to be perfect. What you want is the list, in the right order, before something else chooses the order for you.

  1. 01

    Send us the advert

Before you pay us anything. We will tell you what the known issues are for that generation and build date, and occasionally that the car is not worth inspecting.

  2. 02

We agree access with the seller

Wheels off and undertray down is what makes an inspection worth having. If a seller will not allow it, that is itself useful information.

  3. 03

Three hours and a road test

Ramp inspection, full diagnostic read, cold start where possible, then a proper drive including motorway speed and a rough surface.

  4. 04

A phone call, then the document

We ring you the same day with the verdict, then send the report, the photographs and the diagnostic printout within forty-eight hours.

What you receive

01

A written report

Every item recorded pass, monitor or attend, with a plain explanation and an indicative cost for anything that needs doing.

02

Photographs of everything

Typically sixty to ninety images, including the things you cannot see without a ramp.

03

The diagnostic printout

Every module, every stored fault, campaign status and mileage plausibility — the paperwork a seller cannot argue with.

04

A conversation

Ten minutes on the phone with James, who will answer the only question that matters: would you buy it.

When it is worth doing

01

In the first month of ownership

While you still have every option open — the warranty, the seller, and time to plan work rather than react to it.

02

After an approved-used sale

A dealer inspection is a document with a sale attached to it. Ours is not, and what we find early is generally still their problem.

03

On a car you have owned for years

Not only new purchases. If the car has never had a full baseline recorded, this is how you get one.

Asked after every purchase.

Will you tell me not to buy it?

Often. Roughly one in four inspections ends with us advising against the car, usually on cost of rectification rather than anything dramatic. You are paying for that sentence.

Can you use the report to negotiate?

Yes, and owners do. We will give indicative costs for the work needed, which is generally what the conversation with the seller turns on. We will not negotiate on your behalf.

What if I buy it and something goes wrong?

An inspection is a snapshot of a used car, not a warranty. What it does do is remove the surprises that were visible on the day, which is most of them.

Book an inspection.

Tell us the model and roughly what is on your mind. We will come back with a date, a price and how long we will need the car.

If you need a hire car after dropping your vehicle off, we have partnered with Enterprise — just ask when you book in and we will arrange it for you.
